HOW TO WRITE A GRIT BUCK RECOMMENDATION

Respect: Promoting mutual regard, communication, and alignment of company purpose.
- Treat colleagues with courtesy, politeness, and kindness
- Encourage coworkers to express opinions and ideas
- Listen to understand, not just waiting to talk
- Use colleagues’ ideas to change and improve performance or company culture
- Offer praise, encouragement/support
- Participate constructively
- Respond/accomplish tasks in a timely manner
- Offer constructive feedback on ideas and goals
Integrity: Having the courage to DO the right thing, even when no one is looking
- Be reliable and accountable; keep your word; going the extra mile for a colleague/customer, etc.
- Take ownership of your mistakes/shortcomings
- Give credit where it is due
- Follow the rules
- Work when you are on the clock
- Be honest; uphold workplace standards and expectations

Trust: Placing trust in each other and empowering team members to other to do great work.

When writing an effective GRIT recommendation, remember to include these 5 elements:
- Who?
- What?
- When?
- Where?
- Why?
Remember…
Anyone can give out a GRIT buck, not just managers and employees in leadership roles. We encourage peers to give out GRIT bucks to recognize fellow team members who are exhibiting PS Lightwave core values.
